Event Description

This is something very new to our cooking class: Masala. What is masala? Literally, it translates to “spice”. However, in Indian cooking, we use the term masala in many contexts. The term is also used for spice blends, both dry blend and wet paste. Most households have their own blends of spices that are used for daily cooking. In this class, Sujata will use one of Spice Trail’s own dry blends to show you how to make a versatile paste that can be customized and used to make a base for a delicious dish of your choosing, vegetarian or otherwise.

Please remember that this is a class for those who are old enough to follow instructions and can reach our prep tables that are meant for an average-height adult. At this point in time we are unable to offer classes to kids. Please be ready to show us your ID to enjoy a complimentary drink to accompany our dinner. Also, while the class lasts 1.5-2 hours, the whole experience can last up to 2.5 hours. While the bread is vegetarian, the accompaniments to be enjoyed may not be. We are always happy to accommodate anyone vegetarian; just let us know beforehand. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies before you purchase your ticket.

Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers since the kitchen can get warm. We will provide all things needed for the class, including aprons.

Given the nature of the class, we cannot refund you if you cannot make it to the class.
